Mom of Three, Wife of Marcus, and Pastor

Once upon a time, there was a woman who yearned to be an amazing mom, wife, and pastor. Then said woman realized amazing might be too high an aspiration. So she settled for amazingly imperfect.

This woman is me (obviously): proud mom of Tom, Sam, and Karis; thankful (most of the time) wife of Marcus. I am far from amazing, but I can tell you honest tales from my life that might, at times, sound a little like your own life.

I was ordained a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) at age 26 and began the very privileged work of walking alongside people in some of the most significant moments of their lives. Much of what I know comes from what people in the churches I have served taught me along the way. Pastors have the honor of listening to people’s stories of longing and joy. While I cannot tell you most of those stories, I can tell you what I learned from them and how those very stories shape my own story (and maybe yours, too).
